Canon Details: Lucien is an orphan twin who inherited the power to control dark-based elements. Alongside two other element-wielding individuals, Lucien and his sister, Tamira, serve as knight-like protectors to Jace, a boy who is believed to be the only defense against an all-powerful sorcerer hellbent on resurrecting an ancient deity. The world-destroying kind.
Making matters worse for Lucien is the fact that his powers are the result of his being the reincarnation of a demonic prince, Tavores, who coincidentally shares his body and was previously a servant to the sorcerer before his death. This manifests in Lucien’s unusual blood red eyes and tendency toward uncontrollable extreme violence when he or his sister are threatened. Due to these hangups, Lucien comes to think of himself as cursed. He was eventually adopted by a man who recognized his powers and hoped to help him refine them, but the man was killed not long after.
A few years down the road, the twins finally encounter Jace and take up their knight role against his enemies. Lucien rescues Nikki, an introverted knight whose violent nature appeals to Lucien’s danger junkie mentality (developed in the wake of his foster father's death). Throughout the story, Lucien must take on his personal and literal demons, as he struggles to protect Jace, take down the sorcerer and sort out his messy love life before he and Nikki end up killing each other. In the process, he ends up manifesting more and more of his demonic traits, as he fights to hold onto who he truly is.

Height / Weight: 5'10" and slender
Notable Traits: Has long jagged scar over right eye, small upper fangs and claws. Paler than normal skin tone but not enough to look ill. Muscular but hard to tell until he takes off his shirt. Hair always held up in ponytail.
Has a perfect pentacle mark branded into the back of his neck but usually covered by his hair. The mark is actually a deep, angry red scar burned into the skin. The flesh beneath the mark is slightly raised in welts. Has a pair of matching healed scars in the middle of his chest and his back. Despite being healed, both scars are much darker than the rest of his skin.
When his other half, Tavores, is in control: his eyes glow gold and he's slightly stronger than usual.
Inventory:
Always wearing a ruby globule amulet and a topaz sword around his neck.
Brief Summary: Lucien is a whole lot of crazy but he's working on it! He presents himself as an energetic, fun-loving person who is easy to get along with and always has your back. He’s flirtatious and teasing (though he loves his boyfriend and isn't interested in anything serious, thank you) and generally entertaining to be around. Though he will initially wave off aggressors with a placating gesture, Lucien rarely backs down from fights once started and, in fact, relishes the chance to throw down.
While this surface level reading of Lucien isn’t really a lie, it’s also a huge front. Lucien constantly yearns for validation due to his upbringing, although he is slowly growing past this by the end of his canon. He frequently battles bouts of self-hate and counters this with his danger junkie lifestyle. Lucien is constantly in motion, constantly talking. This makes him come across as a bit manic and possibly hyper. Related to this is his tendency to come across as idealistic and even stubbornly optimistic. He manages this non-stop positivity by doing everything in his power to maintain some semblance of control over situations. Unfortunately, should this control start to disappear, he is completely unable to cope and trends toward violent breakdowns.
His danger junkie attitude affects his relationships since Lucien doesn’t view aggression and violence as a deterrent so long as he remains in control. He will often egg people on just to see how far he can push them. This is something he is actively working on since he knows it's deeply unhealthy. He puts on the breaks when it’s clear that things are escalating beyond his control. This may give some the impression that he has masochistic tendencies. But Lucien doesn’t actually enjoy being hurt nor is he turned on by it. He just enjoys the risk and figuring out how to navigate it.
Aside from his issues, Lucien is extremely loyal and will risk just about anything for the people he loves. He does his best to understand others without judgment since he knows what it’s like to be judged and he doesn’t mind offering a concerned ear to anyone having problems.He’s just very unlikely to share his own. He also doesn’t let the others influence how he views a person and prefers to make his own call. He’s definitely the type to stan someone that most would consider problematic. That said, if you’re a jerk to him, he has no problem with making your life difficult until he feels he’s gotten his point across.
Trust is a major thing with Lucien and something he does not give out frequently, despite his friendly nature. It’s a hard-fought battle since he lives in perpetual fear that people will hate and fear him once they realize his true self. His only defense is to keep people at a distance from the most vulnerable sides of him, the ones that can get hurt. His more sincere emotions are something he keeps very close to the chest and will only share if he feels 100% comfortable around someone. And if someone should betray that trust, it’s absolutely devastating to his psyche.
Related to his possession, Lucien has established a type of time-share with Tavores by end canon. While Lucien is the main persona, he does let Tavores take over his body from time to time. Tavores also has a tendency to force control and cause Lucien to black out when Lucien is under extreme emotional and physical stress. When in control, Tavores is extremely protective of Lucien and will often use violence to deal with anything that is jeopardizing Lucien's well being. He is much colder and stuffier than Lucien, but he generally means well. Lucien and Tavores can communicate with each other, regardless who is in control of their body. But if Tavores takes control by force, it's harder for Lucien to be aware of what's going on and harder still for him to regain control.
Overall, Lucien is a kind-hearted person who wants to befriend others and see them happy. He just brings a lot of baggage to the table that most people never see.

ABILITIES AND PERMISSIONS
Abilities: Lucien is both part-demon and possessed by a demon. His main abilities are most kinds of combat, including weapons. His specialty is the use of a rapier. His amulet transforms into a black sword that summons purplish-black ice magic, which saps the target of their will to fight and manages to both burn and freeze at the same time. He can manifest black angel wings and he can heal others (but not himself) with his blood.
